The larger ships of the fleet were supported by a vast number of minor types: Coast Guard cutters, Destroyer Escorts, Frigates, Corvettes, Landing Craft - Infantry (LCI), Landing Craft - Tank (LCT), Landing Ship - Infantry (LSI), Landing Ship - Tank (LST), Submarine Chasers, Patrol Escorts, Mine Layers, and Minesweepers.
