World War 2 Music

The tunes that got our grandparents through the war

My favorite album from the era is definitely the Glenn Miller Army Air Force Band "best of" CD. In it, Miller had a strings section, which add a lot to big band music. My favorite song on that CD is actually a medley of Kilarney, I've Got a Heart Filled with Love, Moonlight Serenade and Wabash Blues. I don't need strings to love Miller's music though. Chattanooga Choo Choo, Little Brown Jug, or The Saint Louis Blues March or any of the other more popular songs he performed work for me too.
