Century John and Czechoslovakia

First Read - MSNBC.com

McCain just said the United States should set up a missile defense system in Czechoslovakia. Should we assume he meant the Czech Republic?
Czechoslovakia hasn’t existed for 15 years. Perhaps McSame wants to look into basing them in the Free City of Danzig, too.

Traveler IQ Challenge

Eat my dust, Llamas!
The LLama Butchers: Where In The World?
Confess! Even if you are at your computer, you’re not doing anything productive this afternoon.
Therefore, I present for your consideration the Traveler IQ Challenge.

Second time around, I focused on clicking more rapidly, not worrying about getting real close. Since I was bound to miss quite […]

192 UN recognized states in 10 minutes
I named 118, missing 74. Hint: There are so many, you’re not likely to get them all, so skip over the long ones like “Bosnia and Herzegovina,” and concentrate on Chad, Peru, Iran, Spain, Laos, Fiji, etc. first.

Denmark redrawn

Denmark redrawn, from Sir Humphrey’s
The wife forwarded this. It’s Denmark with its provinces renamed, Jylland (Jutland) becomes Jihadland, Roskilde becomes Moskeilde, Copenhagen becomes Couscous-havn, The island of Bornholm becomes Fredags bönholm (Friday prayer place)… all quite clever really.

So … why didn’t I think of this? I may have to send myself to the Lubyanka for […]

A Map of Kostria-Wingery

The kingdoms of KOS-TRIA and WINGER-Y, historically part of the unified Empire of Blog, have split from each other and are fierce rivals. Ethnic Kossacks and Lefties predominate in the kingdom of Kostria, supported by the related duchies of Bromemia (“Bro-meme-ia”), Depravia, and Jeralyn. In the rival kingdom of Wingery, tribes of Wingnuts, […]
