Lockhart: Show Me the memo

Update: Withdrawn. This story is inaccurate and wrong. My apologies. I screwed up.

Drudge: CONTROVERSIAL TEXAS RANCHER SAYS LOCKHART WANTED DOCUMENTS // The source of a disputed CBSNEWS report claimed Thursday that Kerry adviser Joe Lockhart tried to "convince me as to why I should give them the documents." Texas Army National Guard Lt. Col. Bill Burkett tells the FORT WORTH STAR-TELEGRAM.

So far, the Star-Telegram site is running a routine article about Burkett, with no mention of the Lockhart conversation, but with this money quote: "Dan Rather ruined me in front of 70 million people," Burkett said.

Bill at INDC links to a San Jose Mercury News article with the Lockhart quote. Khorosho.

This is ENDGAME. True or false Burkett just moved the piece on the board that forces the issue.

Sorry, I'm not getting excited on the word of a guy who's pretty much been proven to be a nutjob at this point. I'd like to believe it, but we've seen how "unimpeachable" this source has been to date.

Joe R

I don't think you get it, only a Barking Moonbat trusts Burkett, but he's party to the conversation, he's said what was in it, now Lockhart has to say he's lying. Have joy in his confession, forced or otherwise, we just skipped over a messy, long and drawn out middle game. I HAVE LINKED WITH URL DIRECTLY TO THE BURKETT ARTICLE.

Now comrades, I know this is Clintonista word parsing, (regrettably one has to be very specific with these people - after all, to such as them the truth is but a lie undiscovered - heard that line in the movie "Rob Roy" - so appropriate in these days), but who is the "them" that Burkett is referring to? It could be taken as either CBS or the Kerry campaign. Either way it's not good, but I'm betting he was talking about CBS.
