Yes, Kathryn, you’re crazy.

The Corner on National Review Online

You’ll have bad times. And he’ll have good times. [Kathryn Jean Lopez]

This Unity, New Hampshire, event was the ultimate in political mortification for Hillary Clinton.

I may be crazy. But Bill Clinton is not going to let himself be humiliated. He’s in talks with McCain before long if he’s not already. He’s going to salvage his name before this election is over. Like I said …

(There’s nothing after the ellipsis.)

What is KLo even talking about here? Maybe McCain is supposedly gonna make Bill VP? Or Supreme Court justice? … So Bill is gonna walk out on the Democratic Party AND his wife … for what .. to elect a Republican??

This isn’t offensive or obnoxious .. just stupid and disconnected from reality.

He can’t be VP; only people who’re eligible for election as President are eligible for VP.

I have been reading several articles in various papers (not NRO), in which all agree that Bubba is deeply bitter with Obama and that the bad blood runs deep.

It seems that Bubba is still enraged that he was called racist and pounced upon when he tried to help Hillary’s campaign during the primary. There have been calls for him to do the “party unity” thing and embrace Obama, but he has thus far been keeping the grudge instead.

Frankly, I don’t think Obama needs Bubba, but it will be interesting to see how this all plays out.

    afe,

I just saw a couple of those articles. AP at HotAir asks, “Just what is the Bill Clinton constituency these days? Hillary is bigger than he is.”

If Hillary’s on board the Obama train, and she gives every impression of being so, then Bill’s kinda irrelevant.

Like you said, it’ll be interesting.

Just spitballing here .. Maybe it’s all for show. It costs Bill nothing to drop a few “he can kiss my ass” comments on background. Then, when he does his own “Unity” thingie with Obama, it comes out that much bigger. Just a thought.

Stephen, you may very well be right. He’s not known as “The Big Me” for nothing.

Lopez was making a prediction based on Bubba’s anger, not reporting news.

Bubba will need to be coaxed back into helping Obama. A few ego stroking references from Obama ought to do it. Bill can not stay on the sidelines. He needs to play a part in the campaign in order to recoup some of his standing in the Democratic party.

Best case scenario for Bill is that Obama begins foundering with whites, Bill comes to his rescue and delivers bitter, hard working whites at the polls, and is again a hero to the party.
