How to order a pen
I just received this box of pens, pencils, Post-Its, and notebooks that I had ordered at work.
What follows is the trail of 35 emails (in reverse chronological order), stretching over a year, to get them.

Steve,
Since it’s only the LIC20 crowd that didn’t know how to get supplies, how about I intro the topic at the dept meeting as part of my announcement that the LIC20 team is going to move to 23rd floor post renovation. I will highlight the benefits of our team being on the same floor including access to supplies. At that point, I can turn it over to you to just verbally describe the who and how.
Sound good?
thx

One last thing, the only available spiral-bound college-ruled notebook is a 3subject, 120 pages, size 11×9. Is this okay?

Not really, but if mechanical pencils are cheaper or more readily available, then they would be fine.

Hi Luz,
I understand from Melissa that you can order supplies for us. Could you get:
- a dozen black-ink ball-point pens
- a dozen #2 pencils
- 300 yellow Post-It notes, size 3 x 3
- a hands-free headset for my telephone (I believe Melissa concurs)
- 3 spiral-bound notebooks, ~150 pages each, college-ruled, size 8.5 x 11
- business cards
I sit on the 20th floor, near the northeast corner.
Thanks,
Stephen
P.S. details for the business cards:

Supplies
We talked briefly about this late last year, where I mentioned xxxxxxxxx were the two admins for LIC. That’s in the past though (your email was from early 2007). Things are different now. We are all now under kxxxxx and should be able to seek assistance from vanessa or luz. With vanessa in midtown and luz downtown I understand why it was hard to get recent supplies. That said, you guys at LIC aren’t on a far away planet or beyond the reaches of interoffice mail.
For supplies, pls go to luz and ask her to send them to you. If you need anything she doesn’t readily have or is a little more expensive, pls go through me (eg, headset) first.

Melissa,
How do we order supplies?
Specifically: pens, pencils, notebooks, Post-it notes, a hands-free phone, business cards, and erasable markers. Right now, we buy this stuff out of our own pockets or we do without.
I am forwarding my email trail from a year ago on this subject. Obviously, it’s a topic that no employee is comfortable badgering one’s boss about continuously. But here’s the latest example. The other day Tanya needed a pen. She came over to our area, and since my personal supply of pens that I had purchased myself had run out, Sam Exxxxx produced a box of pens that he had obtained sub rosa from Elaine in the Mxxxxx department.
Regards,
Stephen
*** I NEVER GOT ANY MORE INFORMATION ABOUT “THE PROCESS.” AFTER 17 EMAILS, IT SEEMED EASIER TO BUY SUPPLIES OUT OF MY OWN POCKET. THAT WAS HOW I LEFT IT FOR A YEAR. ***

I can get into P2P, but once there, I only see “Training Portlets,” and other options, but nothing that seems to say “Click here to order stuff.”
Does that sound right? Or are there other pieces of p2p that must be enabled?
Or, let me ask, once into P2P (which I am), what should I look for?
Thanks,
Stephen

Let me know….

Thanks so much. When can you show me p2p? Or should I get set up on it first? Does it use Single Sign-on? If so, I have that ID.
Thanks,

I will be glad to show someone in your group how to order.
Let me know who has access to p2p or who would like to assign.
If they don’t have access I’ll go ahead and find out how they can get access to P2P (if they don’t already have) and walk them through it.

Vanessa, no one supports our group and as a result we have no supplies. Could you please show us how we order supplies? We sit on 20 and pretty much don’t have anything.
If I assign someone on my team, will you walk us through the process, etc.?
Thanks,
Kristen

Kristen,
While I was able to get my Plantronics hands-free phone unit working, I did want to find out how to order supplies, for future reference.
Per the attached email trail, Vanessa couldn’t help much.
Is there a way to order supplies? Maybe there isn’t. Perhaps that the idea.
Thanks,
Stephen
