Stupid as a … Tennessee Republican?

This phrase may soon join “dumb as a box of rocks,” in cliches for stupidity.

From John Cole, it seems that Josh Marshall made a joke:

Can we ignore Sen. Obama’s silence about Muammar Kaddafi?

Bill Hobbs.com - Blogging about politics and media from Nashville. reacts:

Wow! I would think that basic English comprehension skills, to include the ability to recognize humor and sarcasm, would be a prerequisite for the communications director at the state level of a major political party. Ooops. Wrong again.

How many Tennessee Republicans does it take to screw in a light bulb? None. Thank you very much. They prefer to sit in their 18th Century intellectual darkness.

Why did the Tennessee Republican cross the road? To escape from that scary Moooooslim, Barack Hussein Obama!

Update
: Bill Hobbs seems to have deleted the post. At this moment, the direct link to Hobb’s post (posted on 2/27, titled “Questions for Barack”) still works. But if you go to Hobbs’ main page, and scroll through the days, including 2/27, it just isn’t there. Or, go directly to the “Questions for Barack” post, then follow his nav bar to the next/previous posts: “What’s in a Name” and “Thought for the Day.” From those posts, you oddly can’t get back to “Questions for Barack.”

Yep, old Bill is trying to erase his tracks. I’m glad I took a screen cap of his idiotic post. Patterico would be proud of me. :)

[…] Politburo Diktat discusses this in more detail, as well as thoughtfully providing a screencap of the post, in case, through some mistake or error, it disappears entirely. It does lead one to sadly reflect on the ineluctable regression on this part of the conservative commentariat, though, to engage in what is, after all, a somewhat curious, perhaps even childish step. It would have been perfectly acceptable — understandable — had the post remained as it was in the general feed, along with a brief, updated note regarding how he had since learned he was in error regarding Marshall’s intent, and fallen victim to a jape. He might have expressed his own dissatisfaction with said jape, to be sure, but by acknowledging it, he could have demonstrated an admirable realization that one is not always accurate in initial conclusions, as well as indicating that, yes, there is a value in comprehending making oneself the object of laughter, as possession of a sense of humor that is self-directed enables the writer and thinker to learn not to elevate one’s airs too much, even in the most passionate of moments and times. Man, I lost my posts when he deleted everything…..I haven’t had that much fun making fun of anyone since those idiots at Protein Wisdom stepped outside their bubble.

Did you see, by the way, General Casey, apparent traitor to his country, mention Obama’s Afghan story was believable? Yet, no outrage and I have not checked Karl to see if he has a 14th parsing…

    Keep up your good work

I’m just too stupid to know what went on here, but I don’t think it was tolerance and celebration of diversity.
