Clinton targets pledged delegates

Hillary Clinton’s presidential campaign intends to go after delegates whom Barack Obama has already won in the caucuses and primaries if she needs them to win the nomination.

This strategy was confirmed to me by a high-ranking Clinton official on Monday. And I am not talking about superdelegates, those 795 party big shots who are not pledged to anybody. I am talking about getting pledged delegates …

Camp Clinton is going to get committed Obama activists to magically switch sides. In what universe? How? It certainly is legal, and permitted by the rules, and either side might persuade a handful of the other side’s pledged delegates to switch.

But as a strategy, as a way to pull any significant numbers at all, this is just stupid.

And, out of the mouths of concern trolls: Hype and glory - Paul Krugman

One thing I worry about a lot if Obama is the Dem nominee — and he’s surely the frontrunner now — is that there will be a backlash against Obamamania. Actually, it’s already starting — probably too late to have much effect on the nomination fight, but in plenty of time to affect the general election.

I hope I’m just a cynical baby boomer who has never really trusted any politician since 1968. But I just have a very bad feeling about the way things are going.

Well, yeah, the guy whom he has been relentlessly shilling against is now favored. No wonder Grudgeman has a very bad feeling about things.

He may want to set himself up for a round of “I told you so” should Hillary fall short and Obama be savaged by the Republicans. Interesting that he claims not to trust politicians since ‘68. How does he see his hosannas for the H-beast? Surely they stem from trust that she’ll do the proper thing.

You know I’m sorry I didn’t think of that one first. Do you mind if I use it in the future?

Yes, of course, use it all you want (I first heard the term from my brother).
