Mitt cannot aid surrender to terror

Mitt Romney’s Withdrawal Speech

I disagree with Senator McCain on a number of issues, as you know. But I agree with him on doing whatever it takes to be successful in Iraq, on finding and executing Osama bin Laden, and on eliminating Al Qaeda and terror. If I fight on in my campaign, all the way to the convention, I would forestall the launch of a national campaign and make it more likely that Senator Clinton or Obama would win. And in this time of war, I simply cannot let my campaign, be a part of aiding a surrender to terror.

Wow! I guess I better take down that Obama sidebar thingie. I mean, I sure don’t want to “aid a surrender to terror” either.

    Well, that’s political hyperbole. But still, here’s what Obama’s website says about Iraq:

    Bring Our Troops Home: Obama will immediately begin to remove our troops from Iraq. He will remove one to two combat brigades each month, and have all of our combat brigades out of Iraq within 16 months. Obama will make it clear that we will not build any permanent bases in Iraq. He will keep some troops in Iraq to protect our embassy and diplomats;

    No actual surrender, just giving up.

    if al Qaeda attempts to build a base within Iraq, he will keep troops in Iraq or elsewhere in the region to carry out targeted strikes on al Qaeda.

    Obama apparently doesn’t know that Al Qaeda is already in Iraq. And when he figures that out he really won’t withdraw troops after all. That seems to be what he’s saying. I really look forward to him being in charge of our foreign policy.
