Those reliable and accountable bloggers

Hillary Clinton Pushes for Goverment Bloggers

Presidential hopeful Hillary Clinton made a pronouncement that was decidedly bold, uncharacteristically hip, and some will no doubt argue, desperately kooky.

“We should even have a government blogging team where people in the agencies are constantly telling all of you, the taxpayers, the citizens of America, everything that’s going on so that you have up-to-the-minute information about what your government is doing, so that you too can be informed, and hold the government accountable,” Clinton said during a 45-minute speech addressing a rally full of supporters.

Is there anyone less reliable, more prone to spin, more argumentative, and less informative than a blogger? If anyone is reading TPD to be informed, or for “reliable” information, or (God forbid) for “accountability,” you are greatly mistaken. I nominate Allapundit for DOD blogger, Frank J for HEW blogger, and the Sadly Nobodies for DOJ. We could even create a federal Department of Open Threads for Atrios.

Other nominations?

PZ Myers for Office of Faith-Based Initiatives Blogger (per Canuckistani)

Hey, I love the blogussphere as much as next guy but I already know what the Government is doing: Wasting my money, curtailly my freedoms and generally ******** the public. And guess what? They are not accountable and having useless government spin-mills on the net won’t change that.

    Hmmm… blogging by committee… That’ll be popular.

Based on name alone, the blog Rightwing Nuthouse looks to be a natural fit to head up the NHS.

I wonder if Rick Moran would be amenable to calling it “Leftwing Nuthouse.” :)

I’ll take the nomination of oversight of Government intervention in to Pro and College Sports.

That should land me a nice salary and grant :D
