I love the smell of fear

Especially from a slimy, money-grubbing, sport-wrecking weasel like Scott Boras:

Boras says Yankees can talk to A-Rod

Scott Boras says the New York Yankees could still negotiate with Alex Rodriguez if they wanted to. Boras maintained Wednesday that the Yankees should treat A-Rod the same way they deal with reliever Mariano Rivera and catcher Jorge Posada, who also are free agents.

“Why is it that Alex is the only Yankee who can’t become a free agent?” Boras said Wednesday. “That question was not answered, and we think it’s a question that’s going to be asked for years to come.”

I’m no Yankee fan (Red Sox and Mets only!). But I can answer Scott’s question, since he can’t seem to understand Mr. Steinbrenner.

It’s called THIRTY MILLION DOLLARS, Scott … a concept which, you, of all people, should not have any difficulty appreciating.

I hope nobody in MLB signs A-Rod. I hope he has to go play in the Mexican League.

I hope we get to keep him. I don’t care how it happens.

I’ve got nothing against Alex R., to the contrary he is obviously one of the best players in my lifetime, and I hope that he gets whatever the market supports for a player of his value.

That said, I can’t think of a better penalty for Boras after advising his client to opt out of his $30 million a year deal, than to have no one offer him more than $15 million.

    Heh.

    Fine.

I’ll be happy if he signs for $15MM.

One cannot root for the Sawx and the Mets. Although it would explain so much of PD over the past couple of years…. ;)
