Allahpundit on that poll of Iraqis. It’s complex picture, something for everybody who has an axe to grind. If someone as fair-minded as Allahpundit won’t summarize the poll in a soundbite, neither will I. RTWT.

Captain Ed the Magic Negro meme. You gotta read it to believe it.

Carl Zimmer on the human genome: 26,000 genes …, er … 21,000 … umm … 18,000. He also links to a graph that classifies genes by what they do. Only an incredibly small fraction code for cytoskeletal, defense/immune system, and extra-cellular matrix proteins. I think that means “make stuff.” In gross laymen’s terms, that means the other ~95% are involved with controlling other genetic activity.
