Ah, he also says things like, "All we have to do is stay and we win" and (my personal favorite) "On the down side, of course, is our inability to play in the information war. I think this is part of the reason that the terrorists and the Democrats are natural allies - they are willing to say the most outrageous things and no one holds them to account."

The insanity increases with: "Aside from DoD, no one prepares for their part of the war fight and they don't train for or fund any activities that contribute to war time success.

He could, of course, be talking about the incompetence of Rumsfeld and the neocon lunatics who found it "hard to believe" that one would need more occupiers than fighters post Baghdad, and therefore over-ruled the professional military's recommendations. I guess four-plus years of failure isn't enough time for these types.

Finally there isTHIS: The very structure of our government prevents us from prosecuting wars efficiently and I doubt a change would be politically feasible.

The solution is obvious, even if it isn't "politically feasible." Looks to me like we really need a military dictatorship in times of wars to make sure they are run "efficiently."

I liked your Monty Python screenshot but I fail to see the humor in this lunatic's ravings. That Powderline would quote him approvingly is all the proof I need that your scorn of that blog is justified.

Until there's a positive development that doesn't include three dozen Iraqi market-goers being blown up every week, I'm not tossing my confetti.
