Comments - ‘Did you pass math?’ spam killer

The ongoing battle against comment spam continues.

My beloved SpamKarma2 found something missing (or something that it didn’t like), and told me to tell my host to fix some techie setting. … Ha! Fat chance.

Just using Akismet, it let a lot of spam comments through. It stopped a lot, but let through 1 or 2 spams an hour.

Would any user/reader test the new “did you pass math” feature, by making a comment now?
(It helpfully, or unhelpfully, excuses, me, the site admin, from its requirements.)

Please note whether it asked you a math problem or not. I guess that might require two comments. … Oddly some users say it did ask a question; others have said it didn’t.

I was asked to add 9 and 7, which not only discriminates against the innumerate, it also discriminates against the eight-fingered residents of Springfield.
