Materazzi testifies
Italy’s Marco Materazzi on Friday gave FIFA his version of the World Cup Final’s notorious headbutting incident that marred French soccer star Zinedine Zidane swansong .
Materazzi spent about half an hour with FIFA’s disciplinary panel before striding away without comment through a media ruck. FIFA will not issue a ruling on the controversial incident until next Thursday, July 20, when they will hear Zidane, FIFA spokesman John Schumacher spokesman confirmed after the hearing .
FIFA could not divulge Materazzi’s testimony, he said .
