Did Kos sell out Paul Hackett?
Remember Paul Hackett, the Fighting Dem from Ohio, whom the Nutroots supported in his House race special election in 2005?
Later that year, Hackett took on incumbent Dem. Senator Sherrod Brown.
BuckeyeSenate: Lefty Blog Payola and the Dishonest Brown Campaign, back in October, 2005, noted a rather odd reversal by Kos in this race:

Hackett is an outsider. Me, give me an Iraq vet over a career politician, even one with Brown’s excellent pedigree
So that’s pretty categorical from kos. Let’s fast forward a few hours and take a look at kos’s business partner, Jerome Armstrong, and Brown consultant, hours later

Sherrod Brown should run for the US Senate, he’s our best shot at taking back the Senate seat, and will do the most for Democrats to grow organization in the state to win there in 2008.
Uh-oh. Looks like the partners have a difference of opinion. Well, not for long, less than 48 hours later kos has a change of mind.

… or end up with an icepick in his head.
It looks like Sherrod Brown greased the Nutroots’ skids quite liberally. Read BuckeyeSenate’s whole piece.
If this gets more traction as a scandal — and Geraghty notes that some of the Kossacks are starting to ask questions — look for Kos to make a big show of his independence by loudly slamming Warner for some minor offense.
Jim Geraghty at NRO comes up with A hopefully-useful Kos-Armstrong timeline
On the right half of the blogosphere, “Kos-ola” is the buzzword of the moment. After reading James Joyner’s detailed thoughts, I thought a timeline might be in order. In an effort to cut through the hype, rumors, and whispers:
“Admittedly naive” Jedmunds at Pandagon: Crashing The Stock Brokerages at Pandagon
Despite Garance’s claim that the blogs have been in a “tizzy” over this. I can find little evidence that that is the case, which is very weird to me. This is something that I think the blogs, certainly the “activist” blogs, should be discussing. I just can’t even comprehend how Jerome Armstrong’s reputation could survive this. Yet, I am in strange ways, admittedly, very naive.
