Neo-nazi scores big with Alabama Democrats

Powerful black Democratic voters’ group a factor

More than 160,000 Alabama voters favored a self-proclaimed pro-white, atheist activist in Tuesday’s Democrat primary for attorney general. Larry Darby of Montgomery, who denies the Holocaust occurred, won 44 percent of the vote Tuesday in his statewide race. His only opponent, Mobile County District Attorney John Tyson Jr., collected about 56 percent of the vote.

Darby said he had no money for campaign advertising and that it cost him a victory. “If I could have had $5,000 or $10,000 to spend on advertising, I would have won,” he said.

Still, Darby attributed his “strong showing” to people who identified with his message and platform of “dealing with the Mexican invasion” and fighting “for equal rights for European-Americans.”

“This multi-culturalism is destroying not just the United States but the Southern culture,” Darby said Wednesday. “It’s part of the global war on whites to replace the whites of the world with brown-skinned people. We’re becoming a third-world country.”

Almost comically, some Democrats suggested that Darby (General Counsel of the Atheist Law Center) did well because his name appeared above Tyson’s on the ballot.

The following will not get much air play in the media.

Action by the state’s most powerful black Democratic voters’ group could also have been a factor in the final tally.

Two days before the primary, Joe Reed, the chairman for the Alabama Democratic Conference [ADC], said that the caucus was not endorsing Tyson [Darby’s opponent] because of how he prosecuted David Thomas Jr., a black former Mobile County school board member. Thomas was ousted from his board position May 4 after Tyson’s office brought impeachment charges against him for using school funds to buy Mardi Gras beads.

The ADC, the largest group of black Democrats in the state, distributes sample ballots that recommend voting choices to its supporters.

Perhaps Darby represents a new Democratic strategy in the South, per Howard Dean’s advice to “appeal to guys with Confederate flags on their pick-up trucks.” But such a campaign would have to be very careful, as the national Democrats would continue to brand Republicans as “dangerous right-wing extremists,” while developing their selective appeal to white Southerners.

With this in mind, it is interesting to note the widespread coverage given to GOP Judge Roy Moore (a Christian conservative whose dangerous extremism most famously consists of wanting to display the Ten Commandments in court, but hardly a Holocaust denier) versus the few mentions of Larry Darby. Google News searches for “Alabama Larry Darby” get 209 hits, while “Alabama Roy Moore” get 1250.

In fact, Democrat Larry Darby not only really is a dangerous extremist, he polled better than Republican Roy Moore, both in absolute number of votes and percentage-wise.

A final note: Perhaps some of my Lefty readers will feel that this analysis is unfair. Oh? Just yesterday, while conservatives denounced Ann Coulter, any number of “responsible” Lefties gleefully tagged Coulter as representing all conservatives, just one example of this smear:

It’s interesting to see that some conservatives are distancing themselves from her, perhaps out of fear that she’s going to become the poster child for everything that is toxic about right-wing nutsery. It’s a little late for that, folks; she’s all yours and we’ll be all too happy to remind you of that.

Glad to return the favor. “Darby is all yours and I’m happy to remind you of it.”

Update: Reports of antisemitism by Virginia Democrats seem unfounded.

The reaction of the Alabama Democratic Conference is quite telling. They’d rather support this sleazebag than someone who prosecuted one of their own. Kinda like how the Congressional Black Caucus reacted to Cynthia McKinney’s antics.

While the MSM rants about Ann Coulter (who is not running for office) They seem completely unconcerned about a White Supremist “Democrat” coming close to being the AG of Alabama.

Lets face it, Coulter saying mean things is about as new as sliced bread. On the other hand a David Duke type Dem is definitely new and exciting, especially in the heart of the Old South. One would figure that objective news outlets, with no agenda, would be all over this story.

I never heard of this guy until you pointed him out to me. Quite the creep, and I’d disavow him.

However, he hasn’t been on the “Today” show, “Real Time,” “Meet the Press,” “Hardball,” nor has he had best-selling books. Comparing him to Ann Coulter is a bit of a reach.

    Bobby,

The MSM is delighted to cooperate with your team on these matters. The MSM will devote abundant airtime to Roy Moore and Ann Coulter, and will … er .. um … tend to ignore Larry Darby.

Gotta love the Dems! They’re uniters, not dividers. They can even unite seperatists!
