The NY Times is quoting unnamed Bush administration sources as stating that:

… the White House was working to assemble a dossier that would back up its case about Ms. Miers’ record of accomplishment, her legal qualifications and her conservative credentials. The administration was trying to assemble and review as much documentation as it could find about Ms. Miers’s public record before she came to the White House, including details of her service on the Dallas City Council and her role as president of the State Bar of Texas.

I guess now’s a good time to start gathering information about an important nominee. A week after she’s been announced and your own party is in meltdown.
