Free Tuition to National Guardsmen
Those in the military know first hand about the recent slant of academic personalities against them.
How could they not, with it being blasted from the highest mountains of the Mass media?
However I wonder how many of them know that some schools are on their side. Some, like the right down the road from me NWACC.
Effective today at NWACC, students who are Arkansas National Guardsmen, will recieve Free Tuition and in the state of Arkansas, they aren’t the only ones.
- Twenty-four colleges — both two year and four-year schools — across the state have signed similar waivers for Arkansas National Guardsmen.
Maj. Gen. Don C. Morrow, adjutant general of Arkansas, said the waiver will be significant for northwest Arkansas. “It’s great for our Guard members, and certainly I applaud the school for taking this step,” Morrow said. “I think all of you in this part of the state realize several of your friends and neighbors are deployed or will be deployed in the near future.”
Among other schools in this effort in Northwest Arkansas include:
Black River Tech = Free Tuition to National Guardsmen
Rich Mountain Community College = Free Tuition to National Guardsmen
The University of Arkansas Community College = Free Tuition for National Guardsmen
With the backlash of academics slamming servicemen, calling them mercenaries and automons, it is refreshing to see some schools are stepping to the plate with an exact opposite view, and putting their wallets where their mouths are.
We can only hope others are to follow.
